FROM THE NEWSROOM: The Brooklyn Town Hall is moving into the 21st Century, according to First Selectman Rick Ives. A long awaited upgraded phone system was scheduled to be in place following the holiday weekend. Ives said that, in the past, the old phone system did not even have voice-mail for town offices, and was so outdated that sometimes more than one person could not be on the phone at the same time in the Town Hall. He believes that this upgrade is “going to be a good thing.” Ives also mentioned that an upgrade to the server should also be in effect which will greatly streamline the organization of files for the Land Use Department. It is believed that the Town Hall will be able to run much more effectively with these new systems in place.
