FROM THE NEWSROOM: The new electric car stations that were installed in Killingly earlier in December will soon be up to full functionality, says Town Manager Sean Hendricks, after one of the parts was defective out of the box. The right hand port of the single charging station is not operational, but it does allow for one car to be charged. Hendricks says this has not effected the usage of the station itself. Hendricks went on to say that its worth noting that he hasnt seen more than one vehicle at a time, and has received no complaints on the matter, so it does not appear that the current malfunction is effecting the users of the station. He says that to his knowledge, there are about a dozen electric vehicles in town, and has seen several vehicles more than one time, a number that is expected to rise as time goes on and gets out. As for the cost to the town, Hendricks says there will be none, as the manufacturer will definitely front the bill for the damages.
