FROM THE NEWSROOM: Thompson officials are looking into re-establishing a hydroelectric power plant at the corner of Route 12 and Wilsonville Road in order to generate some revenue back into the town. The idea has been circulating through the town government for years regarding the old mill property in north Thompson. First Selectman Paul Lenky stated that, as of now, some parts of the property deeds need to be resurveyed and re-signed before any further moves are made. If the project goes forward, it will be similar to a solar power development in the sense that the town will contract a company to reconstruct and set up the hydroelectric plant. Officials are looking to different companies that would be interested in supplying this service. Tune in tomorrow for more details.
