FROM THE NEWSROOM: (UPDATE) A man accused of involvement with a string of robberies throughout the country – including a bank robbery in the town of Putnam several years ago – appeared today in Danielson Superior Court, after being formally charged on an active arrest warrant. According to the court clerks office, 54-year-old Mark McIntyre continues to be imprisoned on a set $10,000 bond, and is scheduled to next appear in court on January 23rd. As reported, in June of 2006, state police responded to investigate a bank robbery at the Westbank located at 6 Providence Road, Putnam. After a lengthy investigation, detectives developed two suspects: Brooke Beaulieu and Mark McIntyre. It was determined that McIntyre would drive to bank locations and Beaulieu would go in and commit the robberies, police say. McIntyre and Beaulieu were later arrested weeks later during a robbery in Troy, Illinois. Since that date they had been in federal custody for the multi-state bank robbery spree. Beaulieu has already been arrested by State Police in this case. McIntyre was charged with Robbery 3rd degree and Larceny 3rd Degree.
