FROM THE NEWSROOM: (UPDATE) So far, Connecticut State Troopers Thanksgiving Holiday weekend enforcement has resulted in 281 speeding arrests, 138 seatbelt arrests, 829 arrests for other hazardous moving violations, and four arrests for driving under the influence, according to a police press release. A total of 267 accidents have been investigated, 36 of which resulted in injuries, with one fatal injury sustained in Norwalk. The weekend enforcement operation concludes at midnight on Sunday. Drivers are reminded there are sobriety checkpoints and targeted DUI patrols in place over the entire weekend. State Police will continue this preventive enforcement effort until the end of the Holiday season.
