FROM THE NEWSROOM: (UPDATE) The condition of a woman who was severely mauled by a group of dogs in Plainfield Wednesday morning has been upgraded to fair from critical, according to Hartford Hospital officials Police Captain Mario Arraiga this morning called the incident a “terrible tragedy” and says that police are continuing their investigation into the incident in which the woman sustained what police called “brutal” injuries to her face, shoulders, arms and legs. As reported, 56 year-old Canterbury resident Lynne Denning of South Canterbury Road – a self-employed healthcare worker who was providing care to an elderly patient at a home at 379 Putnam Road in Wauregan – was viciously attacked by between two and four dogs owned by 29-year-old Jenna Allen Wednesday, before Allen and another male party were able to eventually restrain the dogs, police say. A total of five rottweilers and one Labrador retriever were seized from the home and are currently being quarantined at the Plainfield Animal Shelter.
