FROM THE PASTOR’S DESK As I mentioned in my column last week we welcome today for our summer Mission Cooperative program, Fr. Hugo Ramos, a priest from the Fraternity of Mary. He is 37 years old, born in Guatemala and a priest for 10 years. Presently he is pastor in Venezuela. The Fraternity of Mary establishes mission sites where there are no clergy available to fulfill pastoral needs, in difficult economic areas, and among poor and marginalized. They also evangelize youth, taking young men and women on a faith journey to develop their spiritual lives and strengthen their Catholic faith to help them positively impact the community or village in which they live. Please welcome Fr. Ramos this weekend and be generous to his appeal. This weekend we say goodbye to Barry Saylor, our summer seminarian who has been with us for the past ten weeks. Barry will spend next week in La Crosse with Bishop Callahan and other seminarians to ready himself for studies at Sacred Heart School of Theology in Hales Corners, WI and living at St. Francis de Sales Seminary in St. Francis, WI. We thank him for his assistance in the parish in serving Mass, lectoring, being a Eucharistic Minister and sacristan, his work with the Youth Group and visiting hospitals and care facilities. His sociability, dedication and reverence in the parish should be a help to him in the next four years as he studies for priesthood. Thank you, Barry. Pray for him and for more vocations to the priesthood, religious life and diaconate especially from this parish! Fr. Don
