FROM UDOT: 10th West Project. Update for September 19, 2013 As work continues on concrete paving, we remind all to stay off of the concrete until it is open to the public. It can take many days for the concrete to fully cure. Driving or standing on the concrete before it is ready will damage the integrity, and result in needing to be replaced. Please follow marked detour routes, around the new concrete. Anyone caught damaging or vandalizing concrete will be held responsible for the repairs. photo 3 Work in Progress Curb and Gutter operations between 200 North and 1000 North, are scheduled to continue through September 25. Please stay away from the curb and gutter in this area. The entire east side of 1000 West, between 200 North and 1700 North is now an active construction zone. Waterline work on the east side of the road is complete! To accommodate the road construction, the section of 1000 West between 1700 North and 2500 North is completely closed until September 28. Please do not attempt to drive through this corridor, as it is a full construction zone. Drivers of vehicles will be fined and will be liable for any damages done to their vehicle or the road work. Concrete paving on 1000 West between 200 North and 1000 North, is anticipated to continue tonight. We want to remind all motorists that fines are doubled for speeding through construction zones. Please abide by the posted speed limit signs while driving through the construction corridor. Road Closures and Restrictions Intersection at 1400 North and 1000 West - The east side for the intersection at 1400 North and 1000 West is expected to be closed from Monday, September 23 to Monday, September 30, All traffic is to detour on 1000 North. Various intersection along 1000 West - The east side of the intersections at 400 North, 600 North and 800 North will be closed Tuesday, September 24 through Wednesday, September 25, while crews place asphalt pavement. 1000 West between 1700 North and 2500 North - This corridor is closed to ALL traffic. This section of road is scheduled to be reopened on September 28. All traffic is to detour to Main Street via 200 North, 1400 North, or 2500 North. Intersection at 600 West and 2500 North - The intersection at 600 West and 2500 North will be closed for approximately 2 weeks, beginning Monday, September 30. Businesses will maintain normal operating hours, and accesses will be maintained via flaggers during closures. Please do not let the road work keep you from the businesses on 1000 West. Bus service along 1000 West, between 200 North and 1700 North: Due to pedestrian restrictions, CVTD buses have been rerouted to 600 West. For more information on bus routes please visit cachebus.org. Utility Work Utility work along 1000 West (between 200 North and 2500 North) and on 2500 North (between 600 West and Main Street) is continuing throughout the summer. This work is independent of UDOT contractors, and because of this, notification times of work may vary. Here is a synopsis of what to expect: Power Line Relocation: Logan Power is nearly finished relocating power poles to the east side of the road between 400 North and 1400 North. Communication Infrastructure Updates: CenturyLink continues to update and relocate infrastructure along 1000 West, between 600 North and 1800 North, and will soon start on 2500 North along the north side of the road. SAFETY REMINDER: Do not drive or walk in the construction zones. Use designated business accesses. Unauthorized people and vehicles in the construction zone creates a safety hazard for them and the crew, and violators are at risk of receiving a citation. Anticipated daily work schedule: * Monday through Sunday * 7 am to 5:30 pm Occasional night work
