FROM UDOT: Logan 400 North Roadway Improvements Roadway and safety improvements are underway on 400 North between Main Street (SR-91) and First Dam at the mouth of Logan Canyon. Project completion is expected by late June 2013. Construction Activity Update – 6/19/13 The following are planned construction activities. Please note that due to weather conditions, emergency situations or equipment/supply issues, schedules are subject to change. Thursday, June 20 Microsurfacing operations will continue on 400 North. Traffic will be shifted to the south side of the street for resurfacing of the north side between Main Street and Champ Drive on the USU campus. 400 North will be restricted to one lane in each direction in the work zone. Cross-street access to/from 400 North (with the exception of 200 East and 600 East) will be closed to accommodate proper curing of the newly placed micro-seal. Detours will be in place for closed cross-streets. Business and residential driveways on the north side of 400 North will be closed to allow for cure time before traffic is allowed on it. Business access will remain open via Main Street, 100 East and 200 East. On-street parking along 400 North will not be permitted during the work. Residents are advised to park on cross-streets overnight. Time permitting when work is completed between Main Street and Champ Drive, crews will move eastward and begin resurfacing the 400 North roadway shoulders between Champ Drive and the mouth of Logan Canyon. One lane will be maintained in each direction on 400 North for this work. Construction crews plan to work Thursday (June 20) from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Project Improvements The Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) is implementing the following roadway and safety improvements on 400 North between Main Street (SR-91) and First Dam at the mouth of Logan Canyon. Micro-seal resurfacing to protect the roadway from weather and extend pavement life Pothole patching Roadway lane striping New pedestrian access ramps at selected intersections (100 East to 700 East, and 1300 East) General Traffic Control and Hours of Operation Crews will work Monday through Thursday each week, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily, Fridays from 7 a.m. to noon, and Sundays as needed. Motorists should expect intermittent shoulder closures and lane restrictions to accommodate the work. A minimum of one lane in each direction and left-turn lanes at intersections will be open at all times. Work will be completed in sections to minimize traffic impacts. During micro-seal work, motorists should expect driveway access and cross-street closures with detours. This is necessary for the material to cure before traffic may travel on it. Alternate accesses will be maintained where possible. Sidewalk restrictions are possible where work on pedestrian access ramps is underway. Access and Parking Crews will work to minimize impacts to business and residential access as much as possible. UDOT requests that you do not park in designated work zones. During the micro-seal work, parking on 400 North will not be permitted. Tentative Weekly Work Schedule and Phasing Week of June 23 Microsurfacing: The remaining section on 400 North between Champ Drive and the mouth of Logan Canyon will be completed; expect lane restrictions and cross-street and driveway access closures. Pavement messaging and lane striping: Expect intermittent single-lane restrictions in sections on 400 North. Questions? Concerns? We’re here to help.
