FROSTBITE UPDATE Apologies if anyone read the earlier version that had (unfortunately) a PY that was incorrect by a significant margin. More bright and sunny weather on Sunday - with a variable breeze that had some interesting periods with a decent F2-3 but others where it practically disappeared.. The fitful wind had seemed to advantage the faster boats as it dropped noticeably towards the finish of both races - always likely to benefit earlier finishers - normally the faster boats but the Race officer sensibly also finished some slower boats a lap early. Only the well sailed fast boats were able to take full advantage of the wind drop, with strong competition resulting in a win in the first race for Ullswaters Josh Moran (MPS), from Ian Escritt / Kate Mellor (29er) and Jonathan Lister (MPS). Gus McKenzies Topper came in a very creditable 6th. Second race, and Terry Pressdee (MPS) went of like a scolded cat to win by a decent margin from Ian / Kate second again, and Keith Escritt / Andrea Clough (RS200) in third. There was a split in laps sailed for the slower boats that unfortunately affected the results - but again thats an occasional and very undesireable consequence of average lap / PY sailing. Dave Baxter retains the lead in the series with Jonathan, Ian / Kate and Graham I was robbed Tinsley all still in the hunt.
