FROSTY MORNING AHEAD Good evening. After a chilly frosty morning today conditions slowly warmed up with highs reaching 7-8 degrees for most. There was a few showers clipping parts of Banks Peninsula at times, these showers look likely to become widespread tonight there is a small chance one or two may spread into Christchurch with snow falling to around 400m. Overnight lows drop to -4 inland and -2 about the coast. Tomorrow: When you wake up in the morning be prepared for a icy start with most areas dropping to around -2, high cloud will develop into the afternoon and a northerly wind will freshen up also. Temperatures remain cold with highs around 8-10 degrees. Weekend outlook: Saturday will start of fine but come afternoon/evening there is a chance of some showers as winds swing around to the SW, once again Banks Peninsula is in the firing line with some snow falling to around 400-500m. Highs struggle to 9-11 degrees. Sunday we can expect a fine day after a chilly start and light winds there is still likely to be a few showers about Banks Peninsula which will clear into the afternoon.
