FT. POLK STRONG - I offer the utmost praise to community leaders and residents of Central Louisiana. They successfully proved we are "Fort Port Strong," and because of their concerted efforts a favorable resolution was reached for the region - the Post is remaining largely intact. Fort Polk has everything the Army needs to accommodate its soldiers and their families. But, for all the benefits Fort Polk offers, in my opinion the greatest asset of the base is what surrounds it. That is a community of people, who consider the soldiers of Fort Polk not only neighbors, but family.
