FT position now available! Currently seeking a FT Converting Utility Worker-$8.23/hr. Converting Department Utility Reports To: Production Supervisor Primary Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Maybe asked to work in all areas of the Converting Department A. Inspection 1. Perform incoming, in process, and/or final inspection of material/products, according to work instruction 2. Identifies defects/trends and provides continuous feedback to the responsible party according instruction. 3. Use precision measuring equipment such as comparator, caliper, drop micrometer, etc. to determine if the product meets set criteria. B. Incoming Inspection 1. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. 2. Receive all goods and materials * All materials and goods must match the amounts and descriptions on the packing slips through visual and physical inspections * Make sure all quality documents that come with goods and materials are legible and filed * Work with Purchasing and Production on possible discrepancies * Accurately enter receiving information into Vista 3. Follow and understand the Receiving Control Plan, SOP’s, QOP’s, and IICs that are associated with Incoming Receiving * Perform the sample inspections and tasks mentioned in the quality documents * Accurately fill out the appropriate documentation with inspection results 4. Distribute received items to proper departments or destinations within plant 5. Understanding MSDS and proper labeling of incoming chemicals and inks C. Packaging 1. Packaging Finished Goods for shipment to the customer or as a kanban item to be put into Inventory. D. Inventory 1. Kitting up jobs 2. Return materials to inventory 3. Cycle count * Physically count the inventory materials per a set schedule * Make the appropriate corrections in Vista per amount discrepancies 4. Learn to use Vista accurately * WIP Receive jobs * Create bins locations * Issuing materials * Returning materials * Running reports 5. Review Negative Stock Values on a weekly basis 6. Count, bag, and tag parts with appropriate labels. 7. Ensure the correct procedures for are being followed. * Traceability of materials * FIFO: First In First Out 8. Ensure materials are organized and put in their proper bin location 9. Keeping the Inventory department clean and free of debris 10. Perform a bi-annual audit of outdated materials in the bins for Manufactured Parts E. Machine Operator 1. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. 2. After training each operator should be able to set up and operate listed machines… * Shearing * Die cutter * Laminator * Amp machine or drill. 3. Responsible for learning how to complete all paperwork & data entry properly. 4. Responsible to flow from task to task within machine room. F. Shipping 1. Accurate shipping preparation and ERP entry of orders to customers and sub- contractors as they leave the building. * Prepare all the documentation needed per outgoing shipments; packing slips, CofCs, invoices, if needed, etc. * Prepare packages with the correct shipping labels, bar codes, and any other requests per customer * Package and prepare shipments to sub-contractors 2. Arrange for transportation of shipments if needed, Fed EX, DHL, etc. 3. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. 4. Enter accurate shipping information into Vista and other customer portals * Email customer shipping information per customer request 5. Responsible for keeping track of daily ship schedule. Position Specifications: 1. Strong skills interpersonal communication, writing, and organization. 2. Ability to handle confidential information with great sensitivity. 3. Ability to work with limited supervision and high motivation. 4. Good reasoning abilities. Sound judgment. 5. An understanding of the visual inspection method. 6. Basic math proficiency. 7. A working understanding of all departments helpful. 8. Computer skills a must. All duties would be trained over a period of time. Previous experience in some or all duties is a must!
