‘FULANI HERDSMEN, OTHERS DONATE N98.1M FOR JONATHAN’S FORM President Goodluck Jonathan will today pick the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) nomination form for the 2015 presidential election. This is even as he has realised of N98.165million as donations made to him by both corporate and individual donors to enable him pay the required N22 million for the PDP presidential nomination fee and expression of interest form. While Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore, the national body of Fulani herdsmen, donated the sum of N5million, with other groups like National Association of Widows donating hundreds of thousands of naira, the PDP Governors’ Forum and the Transformation Ambassadors of Nigeria (TAN) donated the highest amount of N22million each. Special adviser to the president on media and publicity, Dr Reuben Abati, who stated this while briefing State House correspondents, said the president thanked all Nigerians, including members of the PDP, his friends, associates, and all other groups who out of appreciation of the achievements of his administration in the last four years, had been urging him to seek a second term in office. Abati said, “The president is also grateful to all the persons, groups and communities that have sent donations and made pledges to assist him to pay the required N22million for the PDP Presidential Nomination Fee and Expression of Interest Form”. Noting that Jonathan acknowledged and accepted with immense gratitude, the token of those who donated, Abati gave the list of donors and the amount they donated as follows: Mr Kennedy Ikenna Odoeme N5, 000, Mr Ezemagu Sunday Nnamdi N10, 000, PDP Governors –N22million, Transformation Ambassadors of Nigeria (TAN) – N22million, Ogbia LGA Stakeholders, Bayelsa State – N5million and Otuoke Community Stakeholders – N2million. Others include Brass LGA Stakeholders, Bayelsa State – N50, 000, Bayelsa State PDP Stakeholders- N5million, Northern Youths Forum – N2million, Central Market Traders Union, Kaduna State – N1million, among others.
