FULL TIME GALLERY ASSISTANT REQUIRED Established in 1977, Galerie St. Laurent + Hill is a full service art gallery serving the National Capital Region. The gallery is seeking a self-starting, committed individual to continue our mandate of promoting Canadian art and artists. Job Description: * Bilingual. * Valid driver’s license is essential (comfortable with driving a larger delivery vehicle.) * Applicant will be required to work at 2 locations during the week. * Applicant must be willing and able to work weekends and occasional evenings (Sunday availability a must) * Applicant will require good people skills and be comfortable engaging with the public and also be motivated and capable of working on their own. * Customer interaction in the gallery as well as in the customers home will be required. * Familiarity with contemporary Canadian art is an asset. * Comfortable working on a Mac platform required and knowledge of Artsystems Pro, Adobe Photoshop, Microsoft Excel would be an asset. * Maintenance and development of gallery’s web and social media presence will be part of the job requirement. * Able to handle physical work; including, but not limited to: carrying artwork, installing exhibitions, plastering walls, as well as light maintenance duties.
