FULLTIME: Newcastle Knights 26 (James Elias 2, Brayden Wiliame, Nathan Ross tries; Josh Mantellato 4 goals, Michael Dobson goal) defeated Newtown Jets 24 (Junior Vaivai 2, Matt Evans, Scott Dureau, Jonathan Reuben tries; Scott Dureau 2 goals) at Hunter Stadium. At half time, Newtown led 8-6. The referee was Adam Cassidy. Touch Judges: Nathan Smith and Jimmy Oliveira. So ends season 2014 for the Newtown Jets. We finished the season with 11 wins, 1 draw and 12 losses. This will not be enough to advance to the playoffs. Details of our presentation night will be announced shortly. A big thank you to all the players, coaching staff and other support staff for their effort in 2014. It takes a lot to keep the club running year after year and we are grateful for all your efforts. This match also marks the end of our clubs VB NSW Cup relationship with the Sydney Roosters.
