FUNDING OPPORTUNITY FOR NONPROFIT ARTS ORGANIZATIONS LOOKING TO HIRE SUMMER INTERNS Los Angeles County-Based Organizations Encouraged to Apply Application deadline is November 5 Applications now open for Los Angeles County-based nonprofit arts organizations interested in hiring college undergraduate interns through the Los Angeles County Arts Internship Program. The deadline to apply is November 5, 2014. Program guidelines and eligibility requirements can be found at lacountyarts.org/internships. The internship program is for ten weeks during the 2015 summer and provides undergraduate students with meaningful, paid on-the-job training and experience in working in nonprofit arts organizations, while assisting arts organizations to develop future arts leaders. Organizations interested in hiring a summer intern can receive grants of $2,500 to $4,000, depending on organizational budget size, to be used to pay interns. To support the internships, Los Angeles County Arts Commission, on behalf of the County, will give grants totaling $514,000 to fund approximately 126 internships at arts organizations throughout the County. The program is for Los Angeles County-based nonprofit performing, presenting (including film and media organizations with a presenting program), arts service, municipal and literary arts organizations that are interested in mentoring an undergraduate college student for ten weeks during summer 2015.
