FUNDRAISER FOR PA 8TH DISTRICT CONGRESSMAN MIKE FITZPATRICK - Mon., Oct. 27 @7:00 PM, Ukrainian Educational and Cultural Center, 700 Cedar Road, Jenkintown, PA. EXERCISE UKRAINIAN AMERICAN POLITICAL STENGTH IN SUPPORT OF OUR MOTHERLAND UKRAINE. The Ukrainian-American community is organizing a fundraiser for 8th District Congressman Mike Fitzpatrick. The fund raising event will take place on Monday October 27 at 7:00 PM at the Ukrainian Educational and Cultural Center, 700 Cedar Road, Jenkintown, PA 19460. We hope that you will join us at the event. Attached is a letter from friends and colleagues in the Philadelphia area community asking you to join them in offering support to Mr. Fitzpatrick. Congressman Fitzpatrick has been an active supporter of Ukraine, dating back to his first term in Office from 2004-2006. As the letter makes clear, our goal is to do this as an event that manifests our community’s political engagement drawing support on a bi-partisan basis. The 8th District includes most of Bucks County and small areas of Montgomery County and Philadelphia. Feasterville and Bensalem which are located in the district include some the largest concentrations of Ukrainian Americans in our region. UKRAINIAN AMERICAN SPORT CENTER - TRYZUB: For those of my friends that are members of the Ukrainian American Sport Center, Tryzub, please note that the Congressman’s District begins immediately across County Line Road from the Club. Many of you and a very large number of our other members live and/or work in the Congressman’s District. Several weeks ago, I attended a similar fund-raiser for Congressional candidate Brendon Boyle, who is campaigning for the district that does include Tryzub; there is no question that our attendance heightened his awareness of our Club and also precipitated his strong commitment to assisting Ukraine in its twilight struggle against Russian imperial aggression. St. Anne’s Ukrainian Catholic Church: For those of my friends that are parishioners of St. Anne’s, your parish is decidedly in the Congressman’s District and I encourage you to attend and to participate. You will recall that the Congressman has already held a town meeting in your hall and it was important to heighten his awareness of your parish. Please share this e-mail with your friends and colleagues so that they also attend and share this opportunity to meet the congressman and hear him speak about the issues of concern to our community.
