FUNdraiser for Autumn! September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, a time to remember and honor children and families affected by these rare diseases. Let’s go gold for a little girl who deserves so much!!! From Autumn’s Mommy: Autumn Wehr was born a normal happy baby girl that started to struggle with failure to thrive around nine months of age. After months of doctors’ visits and hospital stays she was diagnosed with polymyxoid astrocytoma, a rare form of brain cancer. She underwent surgery to remove about 80% of the tumor as well as surgery for a stomach feeding tube, chest port placement, and numerous mri and other procedures. Autumn developed post-surgery complications such as c diff colitis and the now permanent diabetes insipidus. A chemotherapy schedule of 60 weeks had been started and other than needing assistance to walk and dealing with daily fatigue and nausea and vomiting, she is doing great. She is the sweetest strongest fighter I know. I had the pleasure of getting to know Autumn’s mom, Carrie, while we were both students at Bethany College. Carrie is a veterinarian at Town and Country Animal Hospital in Wheeling, WV. Autumn lives with her Mom and Dad in Barnesville, OH.
