FURRY ANGELS They come to us as unwilling castaways They wrap their claws around our hearts They bring love and acceptance to our days And see us through the pains we often feel; We love them ferociously and completely We make sure they have all they need We watch them age and die, with weeping And let them go when Gods voice they heed; Yet there are many people who abuse them These fur-bearing emissaries of the Lord Leaving them abandoned or dead to young From their hatred of the furry kind; We remember our late furry loved ones With honor when we defend Another of their species And rescue them from an ugly end.
