FW: The Word For You Today - We Must Be Christ-Centred! John the Baptist speaks here of the need for his followers to listen to Jesus and allow Jesus a greater place in every part of their lives. I pray that we may decrease and allow you, O Lord, to shine forth through us more and more, so that the world may see the fullness of your glory, receive the life-changing words of salvation, appropriate your healing, and walk in the light of your Presence. He must increase, but I must decrease. 31 He that comes from above is above all: he that is of the earth is earthly, and speaks of the earth: he that comes from heaven is above all. 32 And what he has seen and heard, that he testifies; and no man receives his testimony. 33 He that has received his testimony hath set to his seal that God is true. 34 For he whom God has sent speaks the words of God: for God gives not the Spirit by measure unto him. 35 The Father loves the Son, and has given all things into his hand. 36 He that believes on the Son has everlasting life: and he that believes not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abides on him. Sunday, 6 July 2014 You are worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honor and power.Revelation 4:11 NJKV In the book of Revelation Christ stands knocking on the door of the last of the seven churches, asking them to let Him in. Amazing! Did the people inside not miss Him? Heres a frightening thought: its possible to build a large institution, call it a church, and let Jesus be marginalized in its emphasis and activities. The measure of a ministry is how it treats Christ. Even in emphasizing the importance of Spirit-filled living, we can produce believers who are Spirit-filled but not Jesus-thrilled! We can reduce Christianity to principles that work as effectively in the secular marketplace as they do in the church. John the revelator saw Christ sitting upon a throne. Next he heard the voices of a multitude singing, Worthy is the Lamb who was slain to receive power and riches and wisdom, and strength and honor and glory and blessing! (Revelation 5:12 NKJV). And it was a mixed multitude. Every creature which is in heaven and on the earth and under the earth and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, I heard saying: Blessing and honor and glory and power be to Him who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb, forever and ever! (v. 13 NKJV). London once had two great preachers. When a lady went to hear the first, Dr. Joseph Parker, she left saying, What a preacher! When she went to hear the second, Charles Spurgeon, she left saying What a Christ! Do you love the Lord supremely? If you died and they exhumed your body, would they find His name written on your heart?
