FYI - Ballina residents Wet Weather Update - Ballina Shire Council STORMWATER Ballina Shire Council officers have been working through the night and this morning to clear the excessive stormwater from last night’s rain event. Residents should now be able to use household water such as washing machines, dishwashers, flushing toilets and showers. Residents are also advised that it is not necessary to boil drinking water. ROAD STATUS The following rural roads are closed due to flooding: 1. Boundary Road @ Marom Creek 2. Friday Hut Road @ Emigrant Crossing 3. Friday Hut Road @ Kirklands Crossing 4. Houghlahans Creek Road @ Tooheys Mill Road 5. Houghlahans Creek Road Causeways 6. Marom Creek Road @ Yellow Creek (Justilius Road) 7. Pearces Creek Hall Road @ Pearces Creek 8. Ross Lane @ Deadmans Creek 9. Teven/Eltham Road Intersection 10. Uralba Road @ Duck Creek. Flooding of many urban roads has subsided yet water still remains over a number of other urban and rural roads. These roads will be signposted and motorists are urged to proceed with extreme caution. Up-to-date information on the status of roads can be found at myroadinfo.au or Council’s website ballina.nsw.gov.au BALLINA BYRON GATEWAY AIRPORT The Ballina Byron Gateway Airport is open and operational. There is currently no advanced cancellation of flights into or out of Ballina.
