FYI: 1. My first landlady, my cousin Nang Toto, was a Home Economics teacher. Very good cook. Didnt have to cook all the time but she planned the menu for the day. She was a model mama and wife. 2. In college, I stayed with the Revicencios in the CPU compound. Maam was the University Dean of Home Economics, and Sir was the Dean of Agriculture. They supply the sandwitches for the University Canteen so we get it cheaper from the source! 3. Then, with the Parrenos near CPU outpost. We were so many, 50 or so borders, not including their own kids, adopted kids, familly members from the province(s), household helps, and just people from outside that they welcome to the house and feed. We would sneak out of our rooms in the middle of the night to eat, they did not mind. Before dinner, the boarders were assembled in the living room for the traditional devotional, thats singing and praying for 30 min. AND. Met Mr. Cenal. We were boardmates! 3. The college dorm. Never mind. The only fun I remember was when my parents sent homemade tocino from home and the whole gang would cook and eat them at the back of the school canteen/kitchen. 4. Talves family of Barotac. Enjoyed the sea foods. Only the best for the kaseras as Tay Abog woud always say. Hes quite a character, has 2 families that get along fine! 5. Finally, Inday Neema and To Nan Golez. How many lucky strikes can I get? Inday Nems was our Nutrition/Dietetics instructor, Head of the Iloilo Doctors Hospital Dietary Dept. and also taught in the U of San Agustin. To Nan(RIP), always funny, very smart. He was a prominent Entomologist, the man behind the mango project in Guimaras. On the side: my BFF Judith married Tony, Inday Nems brother! MEMORIES, MEMORIES, MEMORIES!!! Short cut lang na.....
