FYI. I pay less paying my mortgage then my neighbors paying their rent. Same house and mine is in WAY better condition. $600 less a month. If you want to buy this is the route we took 1. Pay off any negative debt. All bad debt. 2. Interview for a good realtor. And interview a couple. They all sound good. Trust your gut. 3. Get pre approved by a bank. Realtor can point you to a good company that will try a few banks for you. 4. Stay below your approved number. Never try to go over. It wont work. Your approved for $500,000 YAY THATS A $3700 mortgage. Nah. Only if you want to be house broke. 5. Buy a fixer upper and make it your own. Your going to do that to any house you buy ANYWAY. 6. Dont be picky, it a sellers market, it will sell fast. 7. Its stressful. But at the end of the journey it pays you. I love my home. I am grateful.
