FYI Im about to go on a rant. And Im sorry, well actually Im not sorry to anyone that Im about to offend. Let me start by saying its ridiculous how within our African American culture our kids will be raised to see light skin & dark skin. Its beyond RIDICULOUS. I dont have anything again mixed babies, nor babies who are light skin w/ curly hair or green eyes. So dont think thats what I am saying because your misunderstanding what Im saying. All babies are beautiful, why do we see color in little innocent kids? My daughter is brown skin, with 2 dark skin parents, hazel eyes, and not a chunky baby but you know what she is PERFECT & I want her to know that regardless of what anyone says. I am really scared of the future because the present is really sickening to me. All I know is I am going to teach her to be a strong , independent black woman who stands up for herself& to know she is beautiful. Skin color doesnt define you. You want to know something else YES my daughter has curly hair but that can quickly change but let me inform you even if she had the nappiest black hair ever I would still embrace her and love her the same. So when did Skin color, hair texture, eye color, ethnicity and if your a chunky baby define who are as a person? Come on we have to do better for our kids. Im so tired of going out and getting asked the same dumb questions: her dad must be mixed? NO her dad is darker than me! She must have her dads hair (thinking her dad is mixed)? NO Im African American but if you knew anything before you opened that mouth you would know I have naturally curly hair. And this last question ALWAYS pisses me off. why is she so light skin? OMG its genetics people. If you knew her dad was light skin as a baby and I was white. Its OKAY. 2 dark skin people can have a lighter baby. Im sorry some people may not understand why this annoys me, its not for you to understand. It infuriates me how ignorant some people are in this world. Now if you have a mixed baby with curly hair or she is light skin with green eyes by all means brag on your kid, I know I do. Now saying your kid is better because of those things or if thats what you think Im so sorry you were raised that way. May God be with you. When do you draw the line?
