FYI: Notice of critical BCIT heat system repairs During recent annual maintenance work on the Burnaby Campus heating system, BCIT Facilities Services discovered several underground heating lines that are likely to fail if the heating system is activated. These lines provide heat to buildings NE01, SE02, SE10, SE12, SE14, SW02, SW03, SW05, and SW09. The BC Ministry of Advanced Education is providing BCIT with emergency funding, allowing repairs to begin immediately. We fully appreciate the need to heat buildings to comfortable levels and are working with urgency to resolve this situation As repairs unfold and as we move into autumn, low temperatures in some buildings may require staff, faculty, and students to wear clothing for cooler temperatures. We anticipate work will continue throughout the fall so please check the Facilities site for updates. Thank you for your patience during this project.
