FYI Oct. 26th historical events; In 1492, lead pencils were used for the 1st time. In 1980, Israeli President Yitzhak Navon became the first Israeli head of state to visit Egypt. In 1984, Dr. Leonard L. Bailey performed the first baboon-to-human heart transplant, replacing a 14-day-old infant girls defective heart with a healthy, walnut-sized heart of a young baboon at Loma Linda University Medical Center in California. The infant died after 20 days. On Oct. 26th 1911, American gospel singer, Mahalia Jackson, was born. She possessed a powerful contralto voice and was referred to as The Queen of Gospel. She also became one of the most influential gospel singers in the world and was heralded internationally as a singer and civil rights activist. Two of my favorite quotes of hers are: 1) Faith and prayer are the vitamins of the soul; man cannot live in health without them. This is so right cos without faith its impossible to please God (Heb. 11:6) and the Bible says that men ought always to pray - Lk. 18:1. 2) My hands, my feet, I throw my whole body to say all that is within me. This is the reason she operated the way she did. We are to allow all that is within us to bless the Lord - Ps. 103:1-2. Like Mahalia we are to give it all to the Lord. Its part of connecting fully or seeking the kingdom and His righteousness, and it guarantees all things being added to us. Beloved as you give God your all, you empty yourself so you can receive all the Lord has in store for you. Have a great day. Stay strong. Love ya.
