FYI PEEPS! Ladies get ur thyroid blood tests often, Demand them if necessary! This reads like my own case study from 1993. 2 inconclusive biopsies, 1 surgery to remove 1/2 the thyroid, (CA diagnosis) & a week later the other 1/2 removed. This new method would have saved me so much time, stress & 5 mths of aggravation before the surgery. Dr Yip is my new doc & shes great. I had a fantastic surgeon, Dr. Yim who moved to Calif. Thanks do his amazing surgical skills, very minimal radioactive iodine was needed to kill of the remaining CA cells. This past December my sister, Donna Kosarich Kulik LaFronte had her thyroid removed & her docs did such a great job she didnt even need radioactive iodine. Although, her biopsy did show the likelihood of CA. So they keep improving! FYI, sticking with the endocrine system theme; My mom, Norma Aspiotis has done a fantastic job of beating pancreatic cancer. She was diagnosed over a year ago-had chemo- the Whipple procedure in Oct.-then chemo pills Jan thru April-She got an all clear diagnosis in May! She is still adjusting to her new body functions tho. Weird, any thoughts about the endocrine thing let me know. Thanks
