Its Program strategy is focused on rural development through promoting good local governance to address issues in the areas: Food Security and Community-Based Natural Resource Management. PVT is a subcontract for Cambodia-HARVEST for implementing The Fisheries/Aquaculture and NRM/forestry component in Pursat Province. PVT currently seeks qualified candidates for the position of Community Fisheries Technician Based in Pursat Province. The Successful candidate will be working closely with Partner Clients (i.e., Community Fisheries) and Lead Clients with demonstration sites to educate/inform and transfer technologies on fisheries/aquaculture-related livelihood management activities and build local capacity to better manage their natural resources and More effectively implement livelihood activities (e.g., fish raising) Position: Community Fisheries Technician Line Manager: Provincial Coordinator of PVT and Fisheries Program Manager of HARVEST Program. Location: Pursat Province Schedule: Full time position Contract duration: 2 years (If Cambodia-HARVEST Program extent fund) Salary: US$ 500 per month, based on qualification and experiences. The Community Fisheries Technician’s Main Responsibilities: - Identifying appropriate partner clients (CFi) and stakeholders in the fisheries sector and recommending them to the Fisheries Program Manager for program assistance. - Implementing of field-based technical assistance, trainings, and other activities as per the stated work plan. - Providing technical assistance in fisheries/aquaculture management and practices to partners clients, and beneficiaries. - Working to increase the capacity and effectiveness of Community-based Organizations (CBO) and cage aquaculture clients. - Undertaking day-to-day supervision of the implementation of partner clients (CFi) and cage aquaculture demonstration farms. - Facilitating the visits of farmers, government officials, NGOs staff as well as the short-term consultants to demonstration sites. - Collaborating with government agencies, communities, relevant donor programs, and other partners as appropriate to facilitate the community fisheries. - Facilitating the organization of conservation field days, special events and cage aquaculture field days, etc. to raise awareness among clients or to other CFi members. - Providing data and materials for program reports, success stories, etc. as required. - Entering brief updates of partner client visits, trainings and other activities into the Web based application system on a weekly basis, and working with the M&E team to otherwise contribute to the monitoring and evaluation process as required. -Performing any other duties as may be assigned by the PVT Director or Project Coordinator and or Fisheries Program Manager of Cambodia-HARVEST Program. +Qualification and Experiences: • At least associate degree in fishery science or combination experiences which is related to community fisheries and aquaculture with NGOs/projects, • At least 2 years professional experiences with community fisheries and aquaculture, • Good interpersonal skills (in communication at the community level and with the government staff) • Highly commitment working in the field with remote areas for partner Clients (CFi) • Good in English language for general communication and writing, • Computer literacy in Microsoft offices/Excel and Internet or e-mail skills.
