FYI ROTTERDAM - A former Grand Union store that has long been an eyesore on Hamburg Street will undergo $2 million in renovations and become the new home to a local office supply firm, Schenectady County officials announced Wednesday. Highbridge Development bought the building and will make the renovations for Superior Business Products, which is expected to occupy 25,000 square feet of space in the building. Superior Business Products is currently located on nearby Carman Road. Highbridge is funding most of the renovations but the Metroplex Development Authority, a taxpayer-funded agency, is contributing a $95,000 grant. The building has been vacant for more than a decade. Schenectady County recently built a centralized police and fire dispatch center on nearby land.
