FYI===Roughly 4 years ago, inspired by the simple life I live & love, & the people & places involved (namely All my Redneck Frynds @ THE HONKY TONK SALOON in Dunmore Pa, but none more so, than my Good Frynd Dave Evans) my brother & I wrote a song, simply called REDNECK PARADISE! Immediately after writing the song we realized right off, that if only we could get this song into KID ROCKs hands, he could surely BAT IT OUT OF THE PARK, which in turn would establish us as professional song writers in the Major Label Industry, because we have always loved writing songs. Realizing that Major Labels dont accept unsolicited material, & with no other way to reach KID ROCK, We knew wed have to do something outrageous (encouraged by the story of Kris Kristoffersons infamous landing at Johnny Cashs house) we came up with a very unique, borderline crazy idea. At the time, I had just been laid off from work due to the economy, but I was so confident in REDNECK PARADISE that I decided to spend my entire last pay check on our outrageous idea. We bought $200.00 worth of lumber, wood screws & such, then immediately began building an oldtime railroad freight box, big enough to fit a washing machine into. We fastened it to an oak pallet, then we suspended 1 demo cd of REDNECK PARADISE right in the center of the whole big empty freight box with guitar strings & nailed the lid shut. Looking like the opening scene to THE BEVERLY HILLBILLIES, we strapped it to the top of my vehicle (right before it got repossessed) & drove it 5 miles to the nearest U.P.S. Freight Dock to spend the last Dime of my last paycheck to ship it to KID ROCKs then manager in Nashville Tn, Mr. Ken Levitan of VECTOR MNGMT. The U.P.S. guy, couldnt believe we built such a big Freight Box on an Oak Pallet, just to ship 1 cd, but assured us that somebody @ VECTOR MNGMT would have to sign for it, & that it couldnt be easily disgarded because it would require a pallet jack to even move it at all. It weighed a ton! Ironically, 4 years to the day that we launched our Freight Box, we found ourselves at the same U.P.S. Freight Dock, with the same U.P.S. guy, but only this time he was wittnessing, notorizing & faxing KID ROCKs Current MNGMT, DARE MIGHTY ENTERTAINMENT our signed contract with KID ROCK who will be co-authoring (slightly rearranging) REDNECK PARADISE to record for an album! The Moral Of Our Story Is: DONT BE AFRAID TO DREAM BIG!
