FYI...in case you didnt know Coroner: Robin Williams hanged himself with belt, had cuts on wrist =============================== Gruesome details of actor Robin Williams death came to light at a press conference Tuesday afternoon. Williams hanged himself with a belt and cut his left wrist with a pocket knife in his San Francisco area home before being discovered dead by his personal assistant on Monday, Lt. Keith Boyd, assistant chief deputy coroner, told reporters. Lt. Boyd said Williams was found in his bedroom “clothed, in a seated position, unresponsive with a belt secured around his neck.” There were also several cuts on his left wrist and a pocket knife with a dried red substance was found in the vicinity, he stated. The Academy-Award winner was 63. “The work of the coroner’s office is not complete at this time,” Lt. Boyd stressed. He said a final cause of death would be released in several weeks after toxicology tests are completed. “The forensic examination conducted by Dr. Joseph Cohen did not [indicate]…that Mr. Williams had been in a struggle prior to him being diseased,” he added. Lt. Boyd said that while the official statement noted that Williams was clothed, it did not state fully clothed. According to the Marin County Sheriff’s Department, Williams’ wife Susan Schneider last saw him around 10 p.m. the night before his death, and she left their home around 10:30 a.m. the next morning, thinking the comedy star was still asleep. His personal assistant became concerned about Williams’ around 11:45 a.m. on Monday and then found him in the bedroom. The beloved “Mork and Mindy” star had been battling severe depression recently, said his rep Mara Buxbaum. Just last month, he announced he was returning to a 12-step treatment program he said he needed after 18 months of nonstop work. He had sought treatment in 2006 after a relapse following 20 years of sobriety. He had a complicated personal life and often seemed driven by demons. He did a few lines of cocaine with John Belushi on the last night of that comics life. A darkness seeped in during an interview with comedian Marc Maron in 2010, where Williams seemingly dismissed what would be a career highlight for many actors. People say youre an Academy Award winner, he said. The Academy Award lasted about a week and then one week later, people went, Hey Mork! Williams is survived by his wife and his three children: daughter Zelda, 25; and sons Zachary, 31, and Cody, 22. Zelda took to Twitter late Monday to pay tribute to her father by posting a quote from Antoine De Saint-Exuperys The Little Prince. I love you, she wrote. I miss you.
