FYI-our weekly updates have been moved from Monday morning to Thursdays, as you have noticed. This was done to better facilitate getting them to the Sherwood Gazette for the police log. FB updates will look different and cover a week now. From last Thursday through yesterday, here is a snapshot of what was going on in Sherwood: Officers responded to the following general calls- 4 hazards, 3 frauds, 3 incomplete 911 calls, 5 alarms, 8 welfare checks, 8 juvenile problems, 15 suspicious vehicles, 9 suspicious circumstances, 2 harassments, 3 un-wanteds, 8 traffic crashes & 7 suspicious persons. Additionally officers handled the following calls; -took graffiti report -took 2 hit and run reports -while doing extra patrol located 2 juveniles and arrested 1 of them for drug possession -responded to a domestic disturbance, no crime committed but the male was taken to detox -responded to an out of control 9-year old -took a report of child abuse responded to a transient trespassing on private property -responded to another with no arrests, but another trip to detox -responded to separate fights, involving different males and traffic altercations -helped return a lost elderly lady to her home -took a report of $500 worth of lumber stolen from jobsite -assisted a female with a restraining order -took 2 reports of large trash bins being stolen and moved around -took a report of stolen prescription meds -responded to a verbal domestic between boyfriend and girlfriend The routine traffic stop story involved a car pulled over Monday for no front plate, the driver was an ex-con who had a felony warrant and had been evading police for 5 years. The car he was driving also had a switched plate.
