FYI, the City of Chattanooga is considering a new set of animal ordinances that not only impact companion animals, but create a permit scheme with a provision for unannounced inspections of circuses/traveling animal acts. I know its just a permit scheme and that we wish it would be more, but in the absence of a bullhook or other ban, an ordinance that empowers the city to conduct unannounced inspections is critical. Also, given that Ringlings Gold Unit (which is actually presented by Carson & Barnes) performs in Chattanooga every year, I have to give the city some props for apparently sneaking this one by Ringling and Circus Fans of America ;-) Will update this thread once I find out what happened at the hearing last night ....
