Fab day at the office competing BD at Holmside Hall. 6 tests, 5.30am start, three 1sts, three 2nds. Golden boy Leckie was an absolute dude and won both of his novices with identical marks of 72.74%. What an absolute star. This is his first competition since Somerford Park premier league in May and he didnt put a foot out of place! Huge thank you to his owner Julie Lockey for letting me have the ride! It was a super productive day for Asti in the mediums today. Our aim is to get more mileage under his belt with him still being green at this level and today has done that job exactly. Our first test didnt go to plan resulting in some very costly mistakes but it was a big learning curve, however our second test was 95% better and had we not stopped for a discussion over confusion in the middle of our test we would have been on a score of 68% with a lot of higher marks but unfortunately we that cost us a 4% drop. Excellent comments from the judge and still so much to come from this horse, which Im so excited for! Thanks Elaine not just for the ride but everything :) Last up was the Miss Royale in the mediums! Out first test was rather tense, we had some great marks but unfortunately equally low where the tension showed. Not entirely the best preparation for the test due to the previous class running 25 mins late meaning she was being warmed up for 1hr and 5 mins and her feeling agitated but thats one of those things unfortunately. However we redeemed ourselves in the second medium and won the class on a great score of 73.3%, so pleased with our girl Annie, thank you!! Chuffed Is a huge understatement! Also a good day for Angela and Ace who won their Prelim class on 69%, Giorgio and Oliver with 71+% and 3rd place!! Good work! Thank you to everyone that has helped me today, especially Elaine, Barry and George for driving the horses there for me, everyone who helped me get ready and the team at home who are always a big support!! Big thanks to my coaches Becky and Hannah Moody as ever for all of your help too! Finished the day with a lovely chilled hack with Hannah too, now chilling catching up on the X factor ready for the week ahead! CHEERS!
