Fabrice Muamba reckons this season’s Premier League title race - TopicsExpress

Fabrice Muamba reckons this season’s Premier League title race is shaping up to be one of the most competitive in years. But the Wilmslow-based former Arsenal and Bolton midfielder believes the trophy might be leaving the North West for the first time since 2010. United and City have shared the last four titles but Muamba thinks it could be London=bound come next May. “This is probably the toughest season in terms of who might win the league,” said Muamba, forced to retire from football after a near fatal cardiac arrest playing for Bolton against Tottenham Hotspur in March 2012. “United have got a new manager and new players, Arsenal have spent big time - which is not like Arsenal - while Chelsea have Didier Drogba back and Diego Costa has come in so they have three or four options they might not have had before. “Liverpool have lost Luis Suarez so that’s 30 goals gone to someone else so we will have to see if they can replace him. City have been a bit shaky so far but it looks to be anyone’s title. “However, I just think Jose Mourinho will go at it this time and do what he wants.” Since being forced to hang up his boots Muamba, 26, has started a journalism course and works for the Professional Footballers’ Association.
