Face To Face Meetings A Lost Art in Business: E-mail communication can be fast and efficient but frustrates business owners and senior executives who say “they are turned off by service providers that use mostly this method.” They see e- mails as a commodity as faceless and easy to replace. More often executives complain that they rarely if ever see the people they do business with or want to do business with them. These execs are asking is this the new way to do business? Meeting face to face with a prospect and or a client on a regularly scheduled basis open the door for cross selling opportunities, this creates high retention ratios and referrals because as they say people do not care how much you know until they know how much you care…and seeing people face to face shows you care. The challenge for service providers and sales people appears to be a new generation of staffers who look to technology to boost productivity ( e mail and phone meetings) and serve multiple prospects and clients from tablets and smartphones for follow up. Prospects and clients see the VALUE in FACE TO FACE MEETINGS. IN A NEW AMERICAN EXPRESS SURVEY OF 200 SENIOR EXECUTIVES AND CFOS it was found that face to face meetings are the number one reason they consider doing business with a company. Jorge Herrera was quoted as saying If they dont make face to face contact, there is not much distinction between a competitor and a company besides price.
