Face Vessels: Archaeological Evidence of Face Vessel Manufacture in Old Edgefield South Carolina: Mini exhibit at the State Museum, 301 Gervais St., Jan. 31-June 7. Face jug collection focuses on 19th century South Carolina potters, showcasing the skills and methods used by early craftspeople. The museum is working with independent curator and researcher Phil Wingard, archaeologist Carl Steen and USC’s McKissick Museum to display these works and related archaeological material. Free with museum admission or membership. Hours are 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays; 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Tuesdays; 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturdays and noon-5 p.m. Sundays.
