Face it. You did not ask God for your physical conception, nor your entrance into this world. In the same way, you cannot will your own rebirth. This is an act of God, apart from your desire or plan. Romans 10:20 says, “I was found by those who did not seek me; I revealed myself to those who did not ask for me.” If you want to be reborn, to receive a new nature through an act of God, it is because His Holy Spirit has called you to repentance. John calls it drawing (John 6:44 and 6:65). You who are chosen will be given eyes to see and ears to hear: your new nature will drive you to repentance. No longer spiritually dead, you then cannot help but call out to the only One who is able to save you from destruction, the Lords One and Only Son, Jesus the Christ!
