Face of ‘death with dignity’ movement takes her own life...Face of ‘death with dignity’ movement takes her own life...she died with DIGNITY which is the key word here...it really pisses me off when those opposed to a terminally ill person decides, lucidly, when to end their suffering. Nobody wants to die but when, like this young lady was told in April that she had six months to live she decided to take control of when she would pass out of this lifetime so why was she demonised for her decision? She died with DIGNITY, did they want to rob her of this for the sake of hope? She was not going to get better only worse and in more pain. There are, I know, people out there who are going to bleat on about it is not right but who are you to make that decision about an individual who is nothing to do with you? There are also going to be terminally ill people who oppose this but the only thing that you have in common is the fact that you have a terminal illness, each and everyones length of termination is different, each and everyones pain is different. I know that if, god forbid, someone I loved who had a terminal illness choose the path of dying under the Dignity Act (which we dont have in the UK) then as much as I personally wouldnt want them to, what right do I have to say that they must endure the pain and die when that time befalls upon them? Everyone so long as they are lucid and understand everything involved has the right to make their own choice...may she RIP
