Face of the day, from pictures I have taken. [Maupiti. Comment: There are some 14 or so islands that make up the Society Islands of French Polynesia. Tahiti is one of them, as is Bora Bora. Maupiti is also one of them, with a population of some 1200 people, and a mountain in its center of some 380 meters. When I was there I met up with a French soldier who was traveling by himself on his vacation. He was stationed on Tahiti, and one day he took his machete and said, lets climb! and so we climbed. Theres a chapter on Maupiti in Starting Over, but once we got to the top he wanted me to take his pictures, and so I did, and then the second picture is of the church in the little town we were staying in and captures a sense of the colors in the water surrounding the island.]
