Facebook Family and Friends, This Armed Forces Day, we take a moment to honor those who serve and stand ready to sacrifice. They defend our sea lanes against those who would seek to interrupt the commerce that powers the world. They patrol and protect the streets of cities worlds away from the ones they grew up playing on. They guard our physical and digital borders against enemies who now operate in a world where boundaries only exist on maps. Our Nations Soldiers, Sailors, Airman, Marines and Coast Guardsman make up the finest military force in the world. They have volunteered to wear the uniform of the U.S. military, and to shoulder the heavy burdens that come with that service. They have committed to being there at times and in places that put them at great risk, because being there matters. Being there matters - this is a phrase that especially applies to your U.S. Navy and USS George Washington. On this day, a holiday for us, a day in which we celebrate the accomplishments and achievements of our military, the fine men and women of the U.S. Navy, including GW, are deployed around the world, around the clock, protecting and defending America on the worlds oceans. Your Navys Sailors will be there when we are sleeping tonight. They will be there every Saturday, Sunday and holiday this year. They are there around the clock, far from our shores, defending America at all times. Because being there matters. Thank you all for your support! Your Captain
