Facebook Friends. I need some health and fitness advice. Recently I was contacted by Paul Kenny who has won 5 world titles in the Frisbee world. It has reignited a passion in me that was derailed over 35 years ago when I blew up a knee, a year later, blew out the other knee, and then spent the next few decades hobbling and teetering around after multiple surgeries. January of 2013 I got two new knees and they are stable. Its the first time since my 20s that my knees havent hurt. I want to rekindle my love for (whats called) freestyle Frisbee. The video shows basically what its about. Im in relatively good shape for someone whos pushing 60, but this desire to start throwing frisbee again necessitates me getting in shape. While I am 30 pounds heavier than I should be, that doesnt bother me too much because as I start to become more active, and adjust my eating somewhat, I will lose the weight. What I need advice about is a general strength and fitness program. I live a block away from You Fit gym and while never being a gym rat, can commit an hour of each day toward physical fitness. Even if I werent passionate about getting back in frisbee, this would be a terrific idea, as I dont need to become more decrepit with age. I would imagine that a routine would be some combination of stretching, cardio, and light weightlifting for strength. I know that its also important to vary the routine. Im looking for advice from my Facebook community about resources, guides, etc.... Anything that that is a comprehensive flexibility, strength, cardio routine. I know that everything isnt right for everyone. So what works for one person may not be attractive for another. But I am open to any or all suggestions anyone would like to make.
