Also a regular winner of the annual six-mile Dartmouth Harbour Town Race, Alf had a 26-mile marathon (the equivalent of the Bluenose full marathon) record of 3 hours, 12 minutes, and 21 seconds-- an impressive seventh place finish in 1938.
