Facebook giveaway hoaxes. These hoaxes see groups, pages or events created (often in the name of popular brands such as Apple, iPad, Samsung S4, Dell, iPhone or Disney) that false assert to offer free products on the condition that the user jump through several spam-burdened hoops. First a user will be instructed to join the group (or like the page, or attend the event) in order to be eligible for prizes, thus spreading the scam to their friends. From there many of these scams will then request the user visit an external website which will link to external rewards programs (survey scams) that are designed to get the user to part with their personal information, or even join expensive SMS subscription plans. Everyday I see people doing this or adding or liking or asking friends to like or join NOTHING FREE!
