Facebook is currently developing an Artificial Intelligence application that will intervene with how you post content on the social media site. Facebook Artificial Intelligence Research (FAIR) is trying to pass the idea off as a “digital assistant” who will “tap you on the shoulder and say: ‘Are you sure you want to post this?’” Yann LeCun, director of the FAIR lab, has spent the past year watching your Facebook behavior and taken what he’s learned and copulated it with Deep Learning algorithms that include facial recognition, and soon the capability to analyze your post text. In a recent interview with Wired, LeCun mentioned his glimpse of the future, “Imagine that you had an intelligent digital assistant which would mediate your interaction with your friends and also with content on Facebook.” The idea of a sober J.A.R.V.I.S. lending a hand and warning you about those pics you’re about to post from your drunken night on the town sounds pretty sweet, right? This will become nothing more than a cold digital mother scolding children at a social media daycare.
