Facilities and Incentives For CGC, Jhanjeri Students Chandigarh Group of Colleges (CGC), Jhanjeri, Mohali held a meeting with representatives of about 50 villages surrounding Jhanjeri. More than 100 persons including Chairmen of Marketing Committees / Block Samitis, MCs, Sarpanches, Lambardars and Members of various Block Samitis attended the meeting. Prominent among them include LIST ATTACHED for Mr. Sandhu Ji to take further necessary action) During the meeting main objectives of the management of CGC, Jhanjeri including providing top quality education to students living in rural areas, giving various facilities to meritorious students, Govt. Scholarships for SC/ST/OBC students, incentives given by the college management for general category students belonging to economically weaker families etc. were explained. Achievements of the college during the last two years in the fields of academics, sports & other co-curricular activities were highlighted. The members appreciated the excellent infrastructure of the college, modern gymnasiums of the Boys Hostel & the Girls Hostel, well equipped laboratories, library, dispensary, bank with ATM & Transport facilities available in the college. Speaking on the occasion S. Rashpal Singh Dhaliwal, President, CGC said that the college would put in the best of its efforts for implementing all the suggestions of the members for providing additional facilities to its students. Dr. G.D. Bansal, Director General CGC said that within a short period of about two years, the students of CGC, Jhanjeri have created new records in PTU by capturing highest number of positions in the Merit Lists of PTU. Five students of this college have already secured first positions in PTU in various disciplines & 54 others have bagged positions in Merit Lists of PTU. CGC Jhanjeri students have won a number of medals in various inter-college sports competitions of PTU. All the students are given special training to improve their communication skills, GD & aptitude test cracking capabilities. It is due to these efforts that almost all the students of CGC Jhanjeri are placed before they pass out. All the persons attending the meeting felt highly impressed with the college & assured the management that they would motivate the students from their respective villages to pursue higher studies in this college.
