Facilities in Department Department has well equipped nutritional laboratory where most of the biochemical constituents of various vegetables can be estimated. In the Teaching Laboratory the preserved specimens of the latest varieties of the various vegetable crops are displayed. A Student’s Plant Clinic is maintained where the live specimens of various diseases and insect pests on various crops are displayed. Blow ups of various hybrids/varieties of different vegetables are also on display. The department has well established kitchen garden at the Vegetable Teaching Farm where various rare vegetables are grown for identification by the students. A post-harvest technology laboratory has been established for conducting research by the post graduate students. The department has constructed net houses and glass houses for training students in protected cultivation of vegetables.
