Fact: Amazon cares nothing about books or readers. To them, books - TopicsExpress

Fact: Amazon cares nothing about books or readers. To them, books are merely products, commodities, a means of making money. They may say otherwise, but how much could they possibly care for items they often sell at a loss, usually as a ploy to encourage you to purchase other products from them. Fact: Independent bookstores are owned by people who read and cherish books, and who want you to share in their love of literature. Independent bookstores may not always be able to match Amazons absurdly low prices, but thats because we actually care about the books we sell. We dont sell them at a loss, because we value the words and pictures inside. We dont treat books like a marketing tool, because thats not what they are. We treat books the way they ought to be treated - as lovely little realms of fiction, fascinating glimpses of the world we live in, and each as a work of art.
