Fact Number 1: Yoruba Western Region of Nigeria is the most - TopicsExpress

Fact Number 1: Yoruba Western Region of Nigeria is the most developed region in Nigeria. Fact Number 2: Yoruba Western Region of Nigeria has more job opportunities than any other region of Nigeria. Fact Number 3: Yoruba parents invested only in the education of their children. Fact Number 4: 75% of Nigerians lives below poverty level of less than $1 a day. Fact Number 5: Based on Fact Number 4, saving as a source of investment is practically impossible for 75% of Nigerians. How then does the Yoruba Youths access fund for business in view of lack of savings for 75% of Nigerians? Through the financial services. The least interest rate on any forms of loan from the Nigerian banks as of 2006 was 35%. Does this make sense for any Yoruba Youths with a tertiary education? No. The best alternative for such a Yoruba Youth would be to apply for a job. Play out the above scenario for Ibo Youths with the following proviso: 1. Ibo Eastern Region of Nigeria is the least developed region in Nigeria. This is based solely on the fact that the region is not naturally rich territory. Its land is not good for farming based on lack of fertile and well-watered soils naturally insured against cataclysmic erosions. There is no coastline in the Ibo Eastern Region for any development potentials, or rich mineral wealth, including gold, iron ore, petroleum (there are just prospects), natural gas, limestones, and others. For some of the reasons above, the Ibo migrated en mass to Yorubaland for job opportunities. Being immigrants in Yorubaland, they naturally faced the same problems as the Yoruba Youths if not worse. The only difference between the Yoruba Youths and the Ibo Youths is that the Yoruba Youths have an alternative -education. Where both cant access loan to start up business, the Yoruba Youths naturally will find a job, but the Ibo Youths will engage in the degradation of crimes and debauchery for the sake of any wealth. It is therefore wrong to say the Ibo Youths are good in businesses in Yorubaland than their Yoruba Youths counterpart. But researches have shown that Yoruba Youths faced with inclusion in the country called Nigeria has nearly destroyed their confidence and hope, but will not engage in the degradation of crimes and debauchery for the sake of any wealth even in the darkest conditions. I respect the Yoruba culture and the Yoruba Youths. We will soon take Yorubaland out of Nigeria.
